Iris Bolling

Award winning author Iris Bolling published her first novel, Once You’ve Touched the Heart in 2008. This self-published work was the first installment to the popular Heart Series which has captivated the hearts of readers and awarded Iris the Emma Award as Debut Author of the Year in 2010.

In May of 2011, Iris introduced a new cast of characters in her Night of Seduction Series. The second book in the series, The Pendleton Rule, was reviewed in USA Today and received, the 2014 Emma Award for Suspense of the Year.

In 2012, she began the Gems & Gents series with her novel Teach Me, which generated an importune shoe contest on Facebook that spanned the international waters. It continued with the release of the very popular Book of Joshua I and Book of Joshua II. The series has earned Iris several awards including 2014 Hero of The Year and 2015 Heroine of The Year. In 2018 the series expanded with Symmetry and Phire: I’m Just Saying. The latter won her The Book of the Year, Cover of the Year and Heroine of the Year.

Her next series, The Brooks’ Family Values, introduced her novel Sinergy in 2014, followed by books two and three, Fatal Mistake and Propensity For Love, both released in 2015. Propensity For Love was awarded the Villain of The Year honor and has been nominated for several 2016 Emma awards.

In 2017, Iris dipped into the Contemporary Romance genre with One Spark of Magic, winning her the honor of Contemporary Romance of the Year. She added another series, The Dunning Trilogy. Her first novel from the series earned her the Best Suspense Romance of 2018.

Iris has received the honor of being named Author of The Year several times since the inception of her career, 2012, 2014 and 2018.

During the year of 2014 , Iris stepped into a new venture geared towards bringing books to film. She executive produced and wrote The Heart, a television series based on her popular novels. Season two aired in the spring of 2016.

This trailblazer was also named Conversations Magazine Top 25 Women of the Year two consecutive years in a row. Iris knows that there is power in telling our stories. Therefore, she works hard and makes sacrifices to help others get their stories told.

In 2019, Iris was the executive producer and screenwriter for the indie project Deadly Sexy. The movie is based on the writings of the award winning writing icon Beverly Jenkins. The project is being well received by the fan base of both artist.

Currently, Iris is in pre-production of a book to film indie project Unfinished Business. The movie is based on the writings of New York Times bestselling author Brenda Jackson. Due to challenges with the pandemic of 2020, this highly anticipated release date has not been set. 

Iris believes in giving back. Her projects provide jobs and internships to women of color who don’t usually get the opportunity to work behind the scenes in technical roles. Several of the actors and production staff working on her projects have grown in their careers, giving Iris supporters familiar faces in other film projects. 

From her platform during various guest-speaking engagements, Iris has encouraged others to follow their dreams. With the recent implementation of her G.I.Y. workshops Iris shares her experience, knowledge and talents with others to assist them along the way. Encouraging everyone to simply, BELIEVE!

Iris currently lives in Richmond, Virginia where she is working on her next book, movie project and/or workshop.
